Chester County Council is hosting a Cub Camping Event on May 3-4. You can come for the day or bring your tent and stay overnight. All 3 Ranges are planned to be open for range and target sports (BBs, Archery, Slingshot). There will be scout skills such as cooking, fire building, first aid, and knots. They are also offering fishing so that you can complete that adventure. Use their equipment or bring your own. They have staff committed so that they can try to open the bouldering wall.
They will feed us lunch and dinner on Saturday and a light breakfast on Sunday. If you camp with us Friday night (May 2) we will prepare breakfast as a Pack on Saturday..
We will register as a Pack so please signup by 4/23 using our Signup Genius. $30/scout $25/adult
For those attending: please be sure to complete your Youth Protection Training (YPT) if not completed in the last year. Please also bring complete medical forms A & B and bring with a copy of your Health Insurance Card.
For our Spring Campout we are going to participate in the C5 Cub Camporee at Camp Ware. The theme is Ware Goes Medieval. If you can't sleep over you can choose to attend just for the daytime activities.
Program Activities will range from several medieval themed games, jousting, branding, Dutch Oven cooking, and archery, just to name a few. While participating in the games, collect gold coins to increase your realms wealth courtesy of the Duke and Dutchess. All of these activities will lead up to a camp-wide Royal Banquet with all the fixins’. Then as the sun sets over Horseshoe Scout Reservation for a Campfire.
This will give families a taste of what it is like to attend Summer Camp. We would like to register as a Pack so please use this signup genius and send payment through square (link in signup genius).
Please see below for an opportunity to learn about Letterboxing. The program is offered by a Girl Scout for her Silver Award project and is open to all Cub Scout families. Participation in this activity will count toward the Cub Scout Summer Activity Award.
Find attached a letterboxing program on August 13 or 14th at the John Chadd house in Chadd's Ford. This program is offered by one of my scouts, Abby Voytilla, for her Silver Project. It is a family event, not just for scouts - so bring your friends! Registration is required for each person (not each scout) because part of the fee is for the use of John Chadd house facilities. The program is from 12-5, but it's not a 5 hour program, so late arrivals are more than OK.
If you have any questions, contact Mike Ritter and they will be forwarded to Abby.
Please consider attending if at all possible. The girls learn many things by putting on these programs and community participation is so important.
The few pictures below barely do it justice. Be sure to check out the Pack 231 Facebook page for more great pictures from camp! Be sure to save the date for next year once our 2021/2022 Calendar is released!
